More Than $1 Million Worth of Marijuana Seized

RIO GRANDE CITY - More than 1,300 pounds of marijuana were found in a shipment of commercial limes. The seizure happened at the Rio Grande City port of entry Thursday.
A tractor-trailer pulling a white utility trailer arrived with the shipment. It was referred for a secondary inspection. That's when CBP officers found 244 packages of marijuana within the boxes of fresh limes.
Authorities seized the narcotics, tractor-trailer and the shipment. The drugs have an estimated street value of $1,050,000.
