Mormon Congregation Breaks Ground for New Temple

MISSION - Members of a local church on Saturday began construction of their new temple.
The Church of Latter Day Saints secured construction permits in late 2011. The city of Mission had denied the permits twice.
Officials said neighbors in the area didn't want the church built because it would increase traffic. The church site is at Bryan Road and Mile 2.
The congregation secured the permits after filing a lawsuit in Oct. 2011 against the city of Mission.
