WESLACO – The mother of a fallen sailor wants justice.

The charges against two Navy commanders of the U.S.S Fitzgerald, in connection to a collision that killed seven sailors, are going to be dropped.

Her son, Noe Hernandez, was one of the seven sailors who died when the destroyer collided with a cargo ship nearly two years ago.

Virginia Hernandez is pleading for justice because she feels like the government did nothing to fight for him.

The U.S. Navy released their investigation about what happened to the U.S.S. Fitzgerald and partially blamed the actions of the commanding officer and tactical action officer as factors that contributed to these deaths.

They are all free of criminal charges.

KRGV’s Christian Colón has the details.
