DONNA - The Donna Independent School District's new police chief said he will overhaul the way his department operates.
Roy Padilla accepted the job six weeks ago. Padilla leads a team of 11 commissioned officers and 50 security guards. He said more officers will be hired soon.
"We re-adjusted scheduling for our police staff, our guards as well. We're going to be on-site during the day, before school lets out, and two hours before they come in to school. So we're going to be accessible and visible," Padilla said.
A campus Crime Stoppers program also will be implemented.
