DALLAS - The Big 12 Conference has released a 2012 football schedule that includes new members TCU and West Virginia to replace Missouri and Texas A&M, schools that are both headed to the Southeastern Conference. For the second consecutive year, the Big 12 will play a round-robin schedule that forces all schools to play the nine other conference members. Standings will be compiled without divisions, allowing the school with the best conference record to be crowned league champion. Also for the second consecutive season, there will be no conference championship game. The annual Red River Shootout between Texas and Oklahoma will remain at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, but be played on October 13th, one week later than is usual. Longhorns' players will also enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with their families. While there is the possibility of a schedule change to accomodate television, Texas is scheduled to host TCU on the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend.
