PALM VALLEY - Palm Valley is offering an amnesty period for the payment of municipal court fines. Starting March 12, the municipal court will dismiss the failure to appear fee on defendants who have failed to appear before the court, provided the defendant pays all of his/her fines and fees in full immediately. The amount dismissed for failure to appear fee may be up to $204. To qualify for the amnesty, the defendant must:

1. Appear before the court in person or in writing during the effective dates of amnesty
2. Enter a plea of guilty or no contest
3. Pay all fines and fees in full immediately

Only personal checks or money orders will be considered as a form of payment. The amnesty period continues until March 30.
