BROWNSVILLE - New pedestrian lights have been installed at a crosswalk near Hanna High School in Brownsville.
The lights were installed after a series of accidents in the area, officials said.
"We will work with them as much as we can to let them know the safe route. ... It's a danger to drivers, as well as pedestrians, to have kids crossing without knowing the rules," Brownsville City Commissioner Jessica Tetreau said.
Officials said more pedestrian lights will be installed at crosswalks near other schools.
