SAN BENITO - Investigators are looking for a person of interest in the city's first homicide in three years.
Police are looking for Esteban Rodriguez. Investigators want to question him about the Monday stabbing death of Angel Perez, 19. Perez, a cancer survivor, was attacked a block away from his home.
The victim was found at the corner of Winchell and Rockefeller streets. He was taken to Valley Baptist Medical Center-Harlingen where he later died.
"We're talking to different witnesses and persons of interest at this time. We're hoping to make some kind of arrest in the next 24 hours," San Benito Police Detective Rogelio Banda said.
