Planters Cocktail Peanuts Being Recalled

About 3,000 cases of Planters cocktail peanuts are being recalled by Planters' parent company, Kraft Foods.

The nuts were possibly exposed to water not intended for food production. Kraft officials says there are no illnesses reported.

The peanuts were sold in 12-ounce canisters. The nuts were manufactured in Suffolk, Virginia. Canisters being recalled have the UPC code 290-000-7212 and an expiration date of Jan. 9, 2014.

Consumers who purchased the affected code date of this product should not eat them. They should return them to the store of purchase for an exchange or full refund. Consumers also can contact Kraft Foods Consumer Relations at 1-800-396-2133.
