McALLEN - Police on Wednesday arrested two men in a credit card cloning scheme. They said the men used the cards to empty some ATMs during the weekend in McAllen.
Police used surveillance photos to identify the suspects' vehicle. An officer driving home spotted the vehicle at an ATM near 23rd and Quince streets.
Officers rushed to the site and arrested the suspects. They also confiscated more than $200,000 in cash and computers used to make the fraudulent cards.
McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said the U.S. Secret Service has joined the investigation. He said both suspects are from Mexico.
Police said the stolen card numbers may belong to bank customers in Mexico.
Officials said a third suspect is on the run.
