HARLINGEN - The smell of marijuana led narcotic investigators to a drug-selling operation at a Harlingen motel.
The Cameron County District Attorney's Special Investigation Unit arrested Jacob Rodriguez, Justin Martinez, Marcos Palomino, Jaqueline Perez and Federico Villafranca at the Su Casa Inn on Tuesday.
Authorities reported they found the suspects with drugs in two motel rooms. They said in Room 120, they had a small amount of marijuana, cocaine and Xanax bars without a prescription. In Room 121, there was about a pound of marijuana and small amount of cocaine.
Investigators also arrested Perez on two counts of unlawfully carrying of a prohibited weapon. They said she had brass knuckles and a butterfly knife in her purse.
While checking on the suspects, police found out Rodriguez was also wanted in Travis and Nueces counties for possession of narcotics.
