HIDALGO COUNTY - The city of Hidalgo police chief wants increased security at the Hidalgo-Reynosa International Bridge.
The request comes after a crash that injured five people, including two children.
The access road to the bridge has old speed bumps to slow down drivers. Five miles away, at the Pharr-Reynosa International Bridge, drivers must navigate a maze of steel and concrete forcing them to slow down considerably.
Hidalgo Police Chief Rodolfo Espinoza said he will set up meetings with bridge management to get more safety measures installed at the crossing.
