McALLEN - Police officers are tracking a group of men in connection with a home invasion that left one person injured Tuesday night in McAllen. The men are considered armed and dangerous, police said.

The men stormed a home on the 3500 block of Kingsborough Avenue at approximately 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. It is the second home invasion in Hidalgo County in less than a week.

The first home invasion happened Sunday in Edinburg near Mile 17 ½ and Sunflower roads. Thieves took electronics and a pickup truck from that home. The truck was later found torched a few miles away from the crime scene.

The victims in both cases had recently moved into their homes before the attacks.

Police said there are similarities in both incidents. They don't know yet if the same suspects are involved.

"From what the cops told me, once they were screaming everybody already left. ... It was the homeowner's wife outside just going hysterical," David Kelley said. He lives next door to the home where the invasion happened.

Police are calling the invasion an attempted robbery. The victim pursued the suspects then returned home, officials said.

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
