PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas (AP) Montrael Scott scored 28 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Prairie View A&M to a 71-62 victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff Saturday night.
Louis Munks had 15 points for the Panthers (6-12, 4-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference). Jules Montgomery and Demondre Chapman each added 12.
Tied at 15 at 13:18 in the first period, Prairie View went on a 25-14 run to lead 40-29 at the break.
The Panthers maintained a double-digit lead through most of the second period with the Golden Lions coming as close as five with just over a minute to play. A pair of 3-pointers in the final minute one by Munks and one by Montgomery put the game away.
Prairie View was 48 percent from the field overall and 66.7 percent from the line.
Marcel Mosley led the Golden Lions (4-14, 2-4) with 19 points. This was the fourth-straight loss for Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
