HIDALGO COUNTY - Voters waited more than two hours to cast votes at one polling site in Hidalgo County.

Long lines formed outside Milam Elementary. The school was the polling site for Hidalgo County precincts 62, 124, 134, 135, 140, 141, 160 and 168.

Voters waiting in line said some people gave up before casting their vote.

The polls closed at 7 p.m. but anyone standing in line before that time was allowed to cast their vote, according to state law. Election volunteers kept a close eye on the lines to make sure no one joined after 7 p.m.

Several other polling sites had similar long lines.
