BROWNSVILLE - An investigation into an odor concerning a Brownsville neighborhood hasn't started. Brownsville public utility officials say they're not going to look into the matter until a customer complains.
A resident told CHANNEL 5 NEWS there is something toxic in the air near the main plant on Robin Hood Drive. Melanie Oliveira said it's making her sick. Several other neighbors have also reported this to CHANNEL 5 NEWS over the last eight months.
But PUB officials told us they have no complaints on file, and until somebody calls them, they cannot investigate.
Residents claim they have called customer service and were told their concerns would be addressed. PUB officials say concerned citizens must call the PUB dispatch center at 956-983-6300 to get their investigation started.
