SAN BENITO - A tiny insect is causing a major buzz in Cameron County. Rio Grande Valley farmers and the U.S. Department of Agriculture are tracking the Mexican fruit fly, known as the Mexfly.

Last month, the USDA implemented an 81-square-mile Mexfly quarantine in Cameron County. This was done after a Mexfly was found in a trap at a commercial grapefruit orchard south of San Benito.

All citrus trees are being treated.
