At long last rain, as most of Texas is getting a good dousing in cooler temperatures after a long dry, hot stretch.
The National Weather Service says much of West Texas and part of South Texas are under flood watches Friday, while Central Texas expected up to 3 inches. Temperatures were to reach only the upper 70s and low 80s in West and North Texas, and upper 80s in South and Southeast Texas.
After a wet Friday night in the 50s in the Panhandle and 60s and low 70s elsewhere, rain will drift south to keep South and Southeast Texas cloudy and wet through Saturday, with temperatures in the 80s. Temperatures were expected in the 50s and 60s Saturday night before skies clear and temperatures climb into the 80s Sunday.
