SAN JUAN - Police are evacuating a San Juan neighborhood near the 2300 block of Fresno Street because of a possible explosive that has been found. Everyone is advised to avoid the area until the all-clear sign has been given.

San Juan Police Department spokesperson Roland Garcia tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS a grenade was found in a vehicle after a traffic stop. It's not known at this time if the grenade is live or not. He adds the McAllen bomb squad and the ATF have been called to assist.

Police ask for residents still in the area to evacuate. They're also asking everyone to avoid the area until the all-clear sign has been given.
