School Officials Plan to Expel Stabbing Suspect

STARR COUNTY - Rio Grande City school officials said they will expel an eighth-grader accused of stabbing a classmate.

The Grulla Middle School student on Thursday was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The boy is accused of stabbing another student in the back Tuesday inside the school.

The stabbing victim was taken to a hospital and later released.

The stabbing suspect will spend the next 10 days in juvenile detention.
