Search Cancelled for Suspect Wanted on Felony Warrant

HIDALGO COUNTY- Authorities have called off the search for Jose Jaime Roque Munoz at a nearby sugar cane field on Mile 2 West and Mile 12 North in Hidalgo County.

Federal, state and local law enforcement have been searching for the man in that area all day. This afternoon, a SWAT team raided a home but came up empty. The suspect was nowhere to be found.

Around 6 p.m. Saturday, law enforcement told CHANNEL 5 NEWS the suspect was spotted in a sugar cane field. Officials then set up another perimeter and began searching the field.

The suspect has not been found.

Munoz is wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and money laundering. DPS troopers also suspect he was involved in a motorcycle accident.
