BROWNSVILLE - A jury continues deliberating the sentence for a man convicted in the starvation death of his nephew.
Abraham Proenza was convicted in the case last week in a Brownsville courtroom. He faces up to 99 years in prison.
Authorities said the 4-month old baby died from severe dehydration and malnutrition in 2008.
Proenza testified he did not want to take the baby to an emergency room because he was not the child's parent.
