Shelter Employees Prepare for Cold Weather

MCALLEN - Employees at the Salvation Army in McAllen say they are prepared for the cold temperatures expected across the Rio Grande Valley tonight.

Salvation Army Manager Dr. John Thomas says the shelter opens its doors for anyone that may need a helping hand. He tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS on nights like tonight they expect at least 120 to 130 people. He says their capacity is 60, but they don't turn anyone away. He says they make arrangements and make sure everyone is taken care of.

The Salvation Army is located at 1600 N. 23rd Street in McAllen. The number there is 956-682-1468.
