CAMERON COUNTY - The Cameron County sheriff is confident Janet Napolitano's visit to the Valley could be a good thing for this area.
Sheriff Omar Lucio was among 10 local law enforcement leaders invited to meet with the Secretary of Homeland Security.
Lucio says he talked to her about the need for federal grants and money needed to fight the drug war along the border.
"Most of us had their say to what is needed, how we are dealing with the issues here, what is going on across the border, which is different than where she comes from which is Arizona," said the sheriff.
Lucio says he was invited to the meeting by the U.S. Border Patrol. There were no county judges or other elected officials invited to the meeting.
