NASHVILLE - Hidalgo County Sheriff Lupe Trevino and his wife escaped injury after an explosion last night at a Tennessee hotel.

Trevino and his wife were among 5,000 guests evacuated from the Gaylord Opryland Hotel after a small explosion inside a mechanical room near an elevator.

The sheriff posted on his Facebook page that he and his wife were walking to the escalator when the explosion happened. He said they were fine and were being evacuated. No one was injured in the explosion.

Trevino is in Nashville for the National Sheriff's Association Conference.
