Shoes Helping Children Take Big Steps

Brownsville - Homeless children receive money to buy new shoes for Christmas.

An anonymous donor gives more than one hundred homeless children money to buy the shoes.

Eryka Zamora was one of the children that received the vouchers for the store. Her mom tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the new pair of shoes helps her daughter's self-esteem.

The money was donated through the Salvation Army.

The Zamora family said it is a gift they will remember for a long time.
