HIDALGO - The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees (19-19-6) bounced back from a Friday night loss with a 5-4 shootout win over The Texas Brahmas (20-17-8) Saturday night at State Farm Arena. Zac Pearson and Nicolas Rioux put the locals up early with a pair of scores in the first five minutes of action. After Texas took a 3-2 lead in the second period, RGV's Phillip Ischi lit the lamp to knot the game. Although the Brahmas scored again, the Bees came back in the third period to tie the game at 4-4 on a Kirill Startsev goal. After a scoreless overtime session, RGV's Aaron Lee recorded the only goal of the shootout to lift the Killer Bees over the Brahmas. After replacing Wylie Rogers earlier in the game, goalie John Murray stopped all five of the Brahmas' attempts in the shootout.
