DALLAS (AP) As a mix of sleet and snow moves across North Texas, some flights have been canceled and sand trucks are being sent out.
Meteorologists say the storm system that brought 6 to 10 inches of snow across parts of West Texas from Saturday night into Sunday morning was expected to bring up to an inch of ice and snow across parts of North Texas on Sunday afternoon.
A Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport spokesman said Sunday morning that about 280 departures were already canceled, about 30 percent of the day's schedule. The airfield was treated with de-icing materials. Airlines were prepared to de-ice planes.
The city of Dallas was sending out about 30 sand trucks and area Texas Department of Transportation crews were pretreating bridges and overpasses.
