AUSTIN, Texas (AP) Some schools in Central Texas have delayed the start of classes amid freezing temperatures and the threat of snow.
The University of Texas at Austin announced the campus would open at 10 a.m. CST Thursday due to winter weather.
The Austin Independent School District cited weather and road conditions for pushing back the start of school by two hours Thursday.
The National Weather Service says Austin had a chance for light snow early Thursday.
A winter weather advisory includes San Antonio through late Thursday morning. Forecasters extended a winter weather advisory for the Amarillo, Lubbock, Midland and Plainview areas through midday Thursday.
