McAllen - Two people take the path in changing their life and inspire others to do the same.
Carlos Cerda is 25 years old and made a commitment to himself one year ago to become a ultra-runner. He met his goal when he jogged from Roma to South Padre Island to raise money for charity.
Cerda says, "I've always been about diving in the pool head-first. I take that same approach with everything I do. I just keep going and keep pushing myself harder and harder." He says it doesn't matter the distance, what matters is doing something you've never done before; doing that is an accomplishment itself.
Iris Buitron a mother and career woman is proof of Cerda's theory. She promised her friend they would change their lives. The women eventually met their goal and started a group for women that grew from 15 to 85 members. Burton also inspired her whole family to get up and start running.
They both say it is about setting a goal and making the next year count.
