RIO GRANDE CITY - Republican in Starr County did not have a chance to cast a vote in Tuesday's primary election runoff.
County election officials said the impediment was that the county doesn't have a Republican Party chairperson. They said that even though the county runs the election, the party chair takes cares of the logistics. Officials said the county's GOP chair resigned recently.
Officials said some 20 Republican voters were not able to cast a vote Tuesday.
The county said they are working with state GOP officials to find a chairperson before November's general election.
