AUSTIN - The state has increased the amount of money offered for the arrest of a wanted sex offender.

The state on Saturday increased the reward amount to $13,000 for information leading to the arrest of Jimmy Ray McMillan. He was convicted in the 1988 sexual assault of a 9-year-old girl in Dallas.

He was arrested in 1990 and paroled in 1994. In 2011 McMillan made arrangements, as a registered sex offender, to relocate from Nacogdoches to Fort Worth, but he did not complete the move, state officials said.

McMillan is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. He is now one of the 10 most wanted criminals.

McMillan has been known to work in construction, roofing and traveling carnivals.

He should be considered armed and dangerous, officials said.

Anyone with information on McMillan location is asked to call 956-252-8477.
