SAN ANTONIO - State leaders announced more motion sensor cameras will be added to farms, ranches and areas along the border.
The Texas agriculture commissioner and the Department of Public Safety director announced $225,000 in grant money will be used for the cameras. It's part of Operation Drawbridge.
The cameras are intended to help catch illegal immigrants and drug traffickers.
Prior to today's announcement, state leaders refused to admit they had hidden cameras along the border. Now they say the grant money will double the number of cameras already in place.
CHANNEL 5 NEWS is working to get more information, including how property owners could get one of the news cameras.
