DALLAS (AP) — A plea agreement means a 12-year prison term for a man accused of providing the "cheese" heroin that led to the 2007 death of an Irving girl.
Victor Tellez pleaded guilty Wednesday during his Dallas trial on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance to a child that caused death. If convicted, the 21-year-old Tellez could have received up to life in prison.
The overdose victim, 16-year-old Ana Rojas, died in September 2007.
Michael Anthony Puente, who had a history of drug arrests, previously pleaded guilty in the Rojas case and was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
