It's iPad mania at Stillman Middle School in Brownsville.
Thanks to Apple's partnership with Region One all GEAR UP kids will get their hands on one of these high tech gadgets.

EJ Martinez..the school's principal says these iPads will better prepare his students for learning.

"Our students were born in to the digital world where through the use of technology, we will be able to engage them in informational rich experiences."

Martinez tells us the iPads are turning things around in the classroom.
"Well, the iPads are giving the students an opportunity to turn our classrooms into learning engines through the use of online learning. Also virtual tours and also iBooks which are almost available in every subject level that we have."

But this new technology in the classroom isn't just for kids. It's also helping teachers come up with news ways to GEAR UP these students for college.

"We have ongoing staff development on technology, our TSC on campus also has technology especially with the new iPads that we have gotten as well."

Martinez says now that his school has these iPads, there are no boundaries when it comes to learning.

"Luckily, GEAR UP has offered this wonderful opportunity that gives us these iPads so here it will help us travel that technology highway to college and beyond."
