HIDALGO COUNTY- 21-year-old Ramiro Gonzalez admitted to stealing water valves from several Mission businesses.
Gonzalez went before a judge Thursday. He told the judge he targeted several businesses and removed the water valves for money.
Police say criminals sell the high-value brass parts to scrap metal businesses.
Gonzalez is charged with five counts of felony theft. His bond was set at $100,000.
Several businesses that were targeted are following recommendations from police to lock-up the valves with cages.
Police continue their search for at least one more suspect.
