BROWNSVILLE - Police have arrested one suspect in connection with the kidnapping and murder of man earlier this month.

Court records show Francisco Javier Flores, 29, is considered the ring leader in the case. Police said he is the first of five men suspected of kidnapping and murdering Reyes Bocanegra two weeks ago in west Brownsville.

Police said Flores was arrested Monday at a probation office on Boca Chica Blvd. His bond was set at $500,000.

Investigators said the suspects kidnapped Bocanegra from a restaurant on U.S. Military Highway and later executed him north of Rancho Viejo. Officials believe the murder was drug related and connected to Matamoros, Mexico.

Police said they are looking for four other suspects.
