EDINBURG – Parts University of Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg were cleared out after a suspicious package was discovered.

It was reported shortly before 7 a.m. Tuesday.

Police had closed off the areas of the chapel and student union.

McAllen Bomb Squad was called out to the scene to assist.

They removed the suspicious package from the campus and the university gave the "all clear".
