Here is the weekly fishing report as compiled for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department for Dec. 25 and also available on the Internet at http://http://www.txfishing.com :

CENTRAL

BASTROP: Water clear; 60-64 degrees. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps and chartreuse jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows over brush piles in 15-20 feet. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait and liver. Yellow catfish are slow.

BELTON: Water stained; 58-62 degrees; 9.58' low. Black bass are good on Rat-L-Traps. Hybrid striper are good on Rat-L-Traps and live shad in coves early. White bass are good on chrome slabs on the bottom. Crappie are fair on minnows under lights at night. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait, doughbait, hot dogs, and summer sausage. Yellow catfish are good on trotlines and throwlines baited with live perch. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. BROWNWOOD: Water stained; 56-60 degrees; 9.74' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse jigs, crankbaits, and watermelon red worms in 10-25 feet. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on Li'l Fishies and minnows over brush piles in 10-25 feet. Channel catfish are good on stinkbait, minnows and frozen shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

BUCHANAN: Water stained; 59-63 degrees; 31.36' low. Black bass are good on black Curb's hair jigs, watermelon red JDC curl tail grubs on jigheads, and suspending crankbaits along ledges and points in 8-20 feet. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows. Crappie are fair on live minnows over brush piles. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

CANYON LAKE: Water murky; 60-64 degrees; 7.51' low. Black bass are good on Texas rigged watermelon worms, pumpkin JDC drop shot worms, and tubes on jigheads in stickups. Striped bass are fair trolling Gizz 4's or Shad Raps on down riggers over humps. White bass are slow. Smallmouth bass are fair on smoke grubs, chartreuse tubes, and small spinnerbaits. Crappie are slow. Channel catfish are slow. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

COLEMAN: Water clear; 61-65 degrees; 15.44' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon and dark red soft plastics, Rat-L-Traps, and crankbaits. Hybrid striper are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and white tube jigs. Channel catfish are fair on stinkbait and hot dogs. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLORADO RIVER: (At Colorado Bend State Park) No report available.

FAYETTE: Water stained. Black bass are fair on Carolina rigged soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Channel and blue catfish are slow.

GRANBURY: Water stained; 57-61 degrees; 8.75' low. Black bass are good on chartreuse soft plastics, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on chrome spoons. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are fair on stinkbait.

GRANGER: Water murky; 60-64 degrees; 1.08' high. Black bass are slow. White bass are fair upriver among shad. Crappie are fair on minnows upriver under lights at night. Blue catfish are fair on shad and prepared baits. Yellow catfish are slow.

LBJ: Water stained; 62-66 degrees; 0.23' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue Curb's jigs and green pumpkin tubes on docks. Striped bass are fair on live shad. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows in brush piles under heated docks. Channel catfish are fair on shrimp and nightcrawlers. Yellow and blue catfish are slow.

NAVARRO MILLS: Water murky; 55-59 degrees; 0.92' high. Black bass are good on spinnerbaits and crankbaits near the dam. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies. Crappie are good on minnows near the dam in brush piles. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and cheesebait near the dam. Yellow catfish are slow.

PROCTOR: Water stained; 56-60 degrees; 7.69' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse spinnerbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and chartreuse tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on frozen shad and shrimp. Yellow catfish are slow.

SOMERVILLE: Water murky; 59-63 degrees; 2.84' low. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows and green/black tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are good on stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

STILLHOUSE: Water stained; 59-63 degrees; 10.01' low. Black bass are fair on chartreuse soft plastics and crankbaits. White bass are fair on silver spoons and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. TRAVIS: Water murky; 57-61 degrees; 52.59' low. Black bass are good on chrome jigging spoons, black jigs, and white grubs. Striped bass are slow. White bass are good on minnows and Charlie slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows and pink tube jigs. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

WALTER E. LONG: Water lightly stained. Black bass are slow. Hybrid striper are good on white striper jigs in the cove and at the hot water outlet. White bass are good on minnows and silver spoons. Crappie are fair on red wigglers. Channel and blue catfish are good on shrimp and stinkbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

WHITNEY: Water stained; 58-62 degrees; 11.09' low. Black bass are good on watermelon soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. White bass are fair on pet spoons and slabs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on frozen shrimp, liver, and stinkbait.

NORTHEAST

ATHENS: Water clear; 45-49 degrees; 0.80' low. Black bass are fair on shaky heads with green pumpkin finesse worms and lipless crankbaits in shad patterns. Crappie are slow on white jigs. Catfish are slow on trotlines.

BOB SANDLIN: Water clear; 47-50 degrees; 4.57' low. Black bass are slow on Rat-L-Traps and weightless wacky worms. Crappie are good on minnows. White bass are slow on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad.

BONHAM: Water stained, 44-48 degrees; 1.57' low. Black bass are fair on jerkbaits, crankbaits and shakyheads fished slowly around rocks. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. Catfish are good on cut shad.

BRIDGEPORT: Water clear, 45-49 degrees; 20.47' low. Black bass are slow on suspending jerkbaits and lipless crankbaits. Crappie are slow on jigs. White bass are slow on slabs. Hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Channel catfish are slow on trotlines. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. CADDO: Water stained; 47-50 degrees; 1.57' high. Black bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps. White and yellow bass are fair on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines. CEDAR CREEK: Water clear; 44-49 degrees; 3.59' low. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits and Rat-L-Traps and bladed jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Hybrid striper are slow on slabs. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnow. Catfish are slow on trotlines and cut shad.

COOPER: Water clear; 60-66 degrees; 12.02' low. Black bass are slow on bladed jigs and Texas rigged creature baits. Crappie are fair on minnows. White bass are good on slab and minnows. Hybrid striper are slow on slabs and minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines.

FAIRFIELD: Fishing has been slow since the fish kill in September of 2010. TPWD has discontinued stocking the lake after another kill in early September 2011. Redfish and black bass survived the kill in limited numbers.

FORK: Water clear; 46-49 degrees; 4.73' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue flipping jigs and football jigs. Yellow bass and white bass are good on minnows. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines and prepared bait.

GRAPEVINE: Water clear; 45-48 degrees; 8.96' low. Black bass are fair on deep crankbaits and suspending jerkbaits. Crappie are fair near floating docks. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad and rod/reel.

JOE POOL: Water clear; 47-50 degrees; 0.97' low. Black bass are fair on weightless Senkos and soft plastics. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are good on trotlines and rod and reel.

LAKE O' THE PINES: Water lightly stained; 48-51; degrees; 1.22' high. Black bass are fair on spinnerbaits, Rat-L-Traps and bladed jigs. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines. LAVON: Water lightly stained; 47-50 degrees; 12.37' low. Black bass are fair on black/blue flipping jigs and squarebill crankbaits. White bass are fair on minnows and slabs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are slow on prepared bait and trotlines. Special regulations are in effect for boaters and anglers on this lake. LEWISVILLE: Water clear; 44-48 degrees; 7.29' low. Black bass are fair on suspending jerkbaits near rocky points. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on jigs and slabs. Hybrid striper are slow on slabs. Catfish are good on cut shad and nightcrawlers. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. MARTIN CREEK: Water clear; 69-74 degrees; 0.01' high. Black bass are good on white bladed jigs and squarebill crankbaits. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. White bass are good on minnows. Catfish are good on trotlines and perch.

MONTICELLO: Water fairly clear; 57-60 degrees; 0.46' high. Black bass are slow on flipping jigs and creature baits around shallow cover. Crappie are good on minnows. Catfish are fair on trotlines.

PALESTINE: Water clear; 45-49 degrees; 1.27' high. Black bass are good on shakyheads. Crappie are fair on jigs and minnows. Hybrid striper are good on slabs. White bass are fair on jigs and minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and rod and reel.

RAY HUBBARD: Water clear; 45-48 degrees; 6.55' low. Black bass are fair on suspending jerkbaits. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Hybrid striper are slow on slabs. Catfish are slow on trotlines.

RAY ROBERTS: Water clear; 46-49 degrees; 7.22' low. Black bass are fair on suspending jerkbaits and weightless Senkos. Crappie are slow on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs and minnows. Catfish are fair on cut shad. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. TAWAKONI: Water stained; 47-50 degrees; 8.58' low. Black bass are fair on bladed jigs and flipping jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are slow on slabs. Striped bass and hybrid striper are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on cut shad.

TEXOMA: Water clear; 46-49 degrees; 6.82' low. Black bass are fair on shakyheads and drop shot rigs. Suspending jerkbaits along main lake points are effective as well. Striped bass are good on slabs and. Catfish are good on trotlines and cut shad. Zebra mussels have been found in this reservoir. Anglers will need to drain all water from their boats before leaving the lake. WRIGHT PATMAN: Water lightly stained; 48-51 degrees; 6.21' high. Black bass are fair on black/blue jigs and bladed jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows. Catfish are fair on prepared bait. SOUTH

AMISTAD: Water fairly clear; 63-67 degrees; 35.89' low. Black bass are good on silver slabs, crankbaits, and soft plastic worms. Striped bass are fair on slabs, crankbaits, and grubs. White bass are fair on slabs and crankbaits. Catfish are fair on shrimp, nightcrawlers, chicken livers, and cheesebait in 60-90 feet. Yellow catfish are fair on trotlines and droplines baited with live perch. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

BRAUNIG: Water clear. Black bass are good on crankbaits and dark soft plastic worms in the reeds. Striped bass are good on liver and shad. Redfish are slow. Channel catfish are good on shrimp, cheesebait, and cut bait. Blue catfish are good on cut bait.

CALAVERAS: Water clear. Black bass are good on dark soft plastic worms, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits around reed beds. Striped bass are slow. Redfish are slow. Channel and blue catfish are good on liver, shrimp, and cheesebait. Yellow catfish are slow.

CHOKE CANYON: Water clear; 67-71 degrees; 22.94' low. Black bass are fair on heavy jigs and large soft plastic lizards in the grass. White bass are slow. Crappie are fair on minnows. Drum are fair on live worms. Channel and blue catfish are fair on shrimp and punchbait. Yellow catfish are slow.

COLETO CREEK: Water stained; 78 degrees at hot water discharge; 4.57' low. Black bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are slow. Tilapia to 5 pounds are fair using cast nets near the hot water discharge. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

FALCON: Water clear; 66-70 degrees; 26.44' low. Black bass are slow. Striped bass are slow. Crappie are good on chartreuse tube jigs around bridges. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow. Everyone in a boat must have a Mexico fishing license (if fishing the Mexico side) whether fishing or not.

SOUTHEAST

CONROE: Water stained; 62-66 degrees; 1.44' low. Black bass are chartreuse soft plastics and Rat-L-Traps. Striped bass are fair on white striper jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are good on stinkbait and frozen shrimp.

GIBBONS CREEK: Water clear. Black bass are fair on watermelon red spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on minnows and blue tube jigs. Catfish are fair on frozen shrimp and stinkbait.

HOUSTON COUNTY: Water stained; 54-58 degrees; 0.26' high. Black bass to 4 pounds are good on jerkbaits around brush over humps and near the creek channel. Crappie are good on live minnows and blue tube jigs near the dam and around brush piles. Bream are slow. Channel and blue catfish are slow. Yellow catfish are slow.

LIVINGSTON: Water stained; 62-68 degrees; 0.44' high. Black bass to 4 pounds are fair on crankbaits and soft plastics. Striped bass are slow. White bass are slow. Crappie are good on minnows. Blue catfish are good on shad. Yellow catfish are slow.

SAM RAYBURN: Water murky; 62-66 degrees; 4.43' low. Black bass are good on watermelon red and watermelon gold soft plastics, crankbaits, and Rat-L-Traps. White bass are fair on Li'l Fishies and chartreuse spoons. Crappie are slow. Bream are fair on worms. Catfish are good on stinkbait, frozen shrimp, and liver.

TOLEDO BEND: Water murky; 63-67 degrees; 3.32' low. Black bass are fair on watermelon red soft plastics, spinnerbaits, and crankbaits. Striped bass are slow. PANHANDLE

WEST

ALAN HENRY: Water lightly stained; 44-52 degrees; 13.3' low. Black bass are fair on Texas rigs, chatterbaits and Rat-L-Traps. Crappie are fair on live minnows over brush piles. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

ARROWHEAD: Water off color; 44-51 degrees; 15.83' low. Catfish are fair on prepared bait, cut bait and nightcrawlers. One ramp open.

FT. PHANTOM HILL: Water clear; 45-52 degrees; 12.18' low. Black bass are fair on Carolina rigs, jigs and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over structure. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

HUBBARD CREEK: Water off color; 46-52 degrees; 21.85' low. Black bass are fair to good on shallow running pearl crankbaits, Texas rigs, shakyheads and jigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs around deep water structure. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

NASWORTHY: No report available.

OAK CREEK: Water stained; 42-51 degrees; 21.12' low. Black bass are fair on Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on cut bait and nightcrawlers.

O.H. IVIE: Water stained; 47-54 degrees; 42.63' low. Black bass are fair on jigs, Rat-L-Traps, Texas rigs and shakyheads. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs. White bass are fair on slabs. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

POSSUM KINGDOM: Water fairly clear; 46-54 degrees; 12.25' low. Black bass are fair on jigs, drop shot rigs, crankbaits and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on minnows and jigs over brush piles. White bass are fair to good on slabs and tail spinners. Striped bass are fair on live shad and Sassy Shad. Catfish are fair on nightcrawlers.

SPENCE: 65.15' low. No report available.

SWEETWATER: Water murky; 43-51 degrees; 22.62' low. Black bass are fair on crankbaits, jigs, Rat-L-Traps and Texas rigs. Crappie are fair on live minnows. Catfish are fair to good on prepared bait and nightcrawlers.

WHITE RIVER: Water stained; 45-51 degrees; 34.18' low. No report available.

COASTAL

NORTH SABINE: Trout are fair to good in the river on live shad. Redfish are fair to good around marsh drains on the outgoing tide.

SOUTH SABINE: Sheepshead and black drum are good at the jetty on live shrimp. Trout are fair around the Reef on live shrimp.

BOLIVAR: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on soft plastics and plugs. Black drum and redfish are good at Rollover Pass.

TRINITY BAY: Trout are good for drifters working pods of shad and mullet on Bass Assassins, Trout Killers and Sand Eels. Redfish are good at the spillway on crabs and mullet.

EAST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good on the south shoreline on topwaters and soft plastics. Whiting and sand trout are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on fresh shrimp.

WEST GALVESTON BAY: Trout are fair to good in the mud and shell on MirrOlures and Corkies. Sheepshead, redfish and black drum are good at the jetty on shrimp and crabs.

TEXAS CITY: Sand trout and whiting are fair to good in the channels on shrimp. Trout are fair to good at night from the piers on glow plastics and live shrimp.

FREEPORT: Sand trout and sheepshead are good on live shrimp on the reefs. Bull redfish are good in Cold Pass and San Luis pass on cracked blue crabs. Trout are fair to good on the reefs in Bastrop Bay on live shrimp.

EAST MATAGORDA BAY: Trout are fair for drifters on live shrimp and soft plastics over humps and scattered shell. Redfish are good on the edge of the Intracoastal on crabs and mullet.

WEST MATAGORDA BAY: Redfish are fair to good on the south shoreline in the guts and bayous. Trout are fair on shell on soft plastics and live shrimp.

PORT O'CONNOR: Trout and redfish are fair on Corkies over soft mud in waist-deep water in San Antonio Bay. Redfish are good at the mouths of drains on Gulps.

ROCKPORT: Trout are fair on the edge of the ICW on glow DOA Shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on the Estes Flats and in the holes on mullet and shrimp.

PORT ARANSAS: Sheepshead are good at the jetty on shrimp. Redfish are fair to good on the East Flats on Gulps and mullet. Sand trout are good on shrimp in the channel.

CORPUS CHRISTI: Redfish are good in the Humble Channel on crabs and table shrimp. Trout are fair to good on the edge of the channel on live shrimp and DOA Shrimp.

BAFFIN BAY: Trout are fair to good in mud and grass on Corkies and Catch 2000s Redfish are good in the Land Cut on natural baits. Trout are fair on the spoil banks on Corkies.

PORT MANSFIELD: Redfish are fair to good while drifting pot holes and while wading spoil islands. Trout are fair to good on muddy shorelines and on the edge of the ICW on Corkies and MirrOlures.

SOUTH PADRE: Trout and redfish are fair to good on the edge of the Intracoastal on DOA Shrimp and Gulps. Redfish, black drum and mangrove snapper are fair to good in the channel on shrimp.

PORT ISABEL: Redfish are fair to good around the Drum Boats and in South Cullen on shrimp and Gulps. Trout are fair on the edge of the flats on soft plastics under popping corks.
