WESLACO - "Tip Off Tuesday" featured a little bit of everything on February 7: a rivalry, some district championships, and a couple of upsets. In a feature game, Lyford's boys ripped Raymondville in the latest "Cotton Bowl" installment--the Bulldogs won big 83-44, while the Bearkat girls scored the equalizer 49-37. Meanwhile, all three of the Valley's state-ranked girls teams finished their respective districts with unbeaten records: 5A #16 Harlingen beat PSJA 65-20, #24 Los Fresnos popped Porter 38-11, and 4A #17 Hidalgo ripped Roma 61-42. On the boys side--a couple of upsets in District 30-5A: McAllen Memorial upended Nikki Rowe 57-51, while La Joya clipped McHi 61-56. Also, Harlingen South's boys claimed a share of the District 31-5A title with a huge 51-38 victory at Edinburg. Here's a list of the other scores received on Tuesday night:

32-4A: Brownsville Veterans boys 50 Mercedes 39; Mercedes girls 57 Brownsville Veterans 39.
32-3A Boys: Rio Hondo 66 Port Isabel 45.
32-2A Boys: Santa Rosa 87 Hebbronville 27 (Aaron Ramirez scored 45-points for the Warriors).
