McALLEN - South Texas's only kidney transplant center and the Texas Organ Sharing Alliance invite the public to learn about how to become a registered organ donor this Monday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at McAllen Medical Center. The event, held as part of Donate Life Month, will feature donor families, live donors, organ recipients, those on the waiting list for an organ, and members of the South Texas Transplant Center's surgical and administrative team. McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez will be the event's special guest speaker.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
10 a.m. to Noon: Donor Drive (Main Lobbies of McAllen Medical Center)
1 p.m.: Introductions and Presentations by McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez, Administration, Transplant Physicians, Texas Organ Sharing Alliance, Donors, Donor Families and Recipients
1:50 p.m. Symbolic Flag Raising
1:55 p.m.: Presentation of Gifts for the Garden of Hope
2 p.m. to 3 p.m.: Open House and Tours of the South Texas Transplant Center (4th Floor of McAllen Medical Center)
