An alert from the U.S. government about travel on Tamaulipas highways doesn't appear to be scaring customers.

Business was busy Thursday at the Brownsville bus station with many buses headed to Mexico.

A warning was issued about travel on highways outside Matamoros and Reynosa Wednesday afternoon.

Bus drivers told CHANNEL 5 NEWS more soldiers and federal authorities have made it more secure on those highways that were scarred by drug war violence.

Some passengers we spoke to said they refused to get on a bus going across the border. They say they are paying more money to fly into Mexico.
