CAMERON COUNTY - Texas Department of Public Safety troopers continue their investigation into a head-on collision that killed two people Thursday east of Los Fresnos.
Troopers are trying to determine why Norma Castillo Olguin was driving on the wrong side of Highway 100 when she collided with a pickup truck.
Olguin and Gabriel Vela, 44, died in the accident. Vela and two others were riding in the truck, officials said.
Witnesses said Olguin drove into oncoming traffic at about 65 miles per hour. She was alone in her car.
The two other passengers in the truck remain in critical condition at a Brownsville hospital.
