MATAMOROS - The U.S. Consulate in Matamoros issued a new warning for Americans living and traveling in Mexico.

The Consulate's message warns of possible retaliatory violence against Americans after the arrest of associates and family members a cartel boss, and the seizure of property and assets in the United States.

A federal grand jury indicted a leader of the Zeta Cartel and two of his brother for a scheme that funneled millions of dollars in drug money into racing American quarter horses. The indictment charges a total of 14 people with money laundering.
