EDINBURG - As the season slowly comes to an end, every athletes asks 'what's next'?

For the UTRGV Women's basketball team, the answer is the Women's Basketball Invitational.

"Super excited, glad we got another chance to play and play some more,' said Madison Northcutt.

"I'm super excited, we get another chance to go at it with some girls, couldn't be more happy, couldn't be more blessed," said Krisynthia Sampson.

The Vaqueros have a quick turn around after a double over time loss to New Mexico State in Las Vegas in the WAC Tournament championship contest.

Lane Lord and company are headed to Dallas.

"I'm hoping we are going to have a lot of fans," said Idil Turk. "I know a couple of my teammates family will probably be there supporting us so it's pretty awesome."

"It's a good opportunity honestly because we can have some fans travel down and my family lives in houston and dallas so some of them will come down as well," said Krisynthia Sampson. "We always love a crowd."

But this post season play is a little bit more important than most.

It's potentially the last time for the seniors to hit the court and represent the name on the front of their jersey.

"The last home game I was literally sitting in one of those chairs thinking wow it's been 4 years already, I came in as a freshman and I guess time flys and I was really sad but if we keep winning the tournament I'm pretty sure we'll host one of the games, so I'm looking forward to that," said Idil Turk.

"It's exciting to see how we can pull those games out, and just keep pushing, towards wins," said Madison Northcutt.

"It's all or nothing," said Krisynthia Sampson. "One of my last moments as a senior playing for a great coach, a great coaching staff, so I'm just going to give it my all."

Tip-off for that game set for 7pm.
