WESLACO - Health officials say there has been an increase in the number of flu cases in the Rio Grande Valley.
Hidalgo County Health Director Eddie Olivares said schools are reporting more flu-like cases. He said people should get vaccinated against the virus as soon as possible.
Cameron County health officials last week reported 170 confirmed flu cases. They said 550 patients have been treated for flu-like symptoms. They said only four cases of flu were reported in the county last year.
