WESLACO – Rio Grande Valley residents are sounding off about President Trump’s visit to the border.

Some residents are excited about this visit; others have opposing views.

KRGV’s Frank McCaffrey spoke with veterans on both sides of the topic.

"We have to have some type of security. People have security around their homes with fences, walls, security cameras. I have all that. We need to secure our borders,” says Edinburg veteran Hector Mercado.

But another Edinburg veteran Mayanin Casarez disagrees.

"We do not need a wall. We do not need a wall. As a veteran living in the community, I believe that money should be used for a hospital,” she says.
