About Matthew
Matthew is a loving, loyal and affectionate child who is hopeful for a permanent family. Matthew enjoys playing chess, monopoly and candy land and watching television. Matthew does have difficulty keeping still and keeping his hands to himself. He is a very curious individual who explores and ask "why" to better understand situations, and rules. Matthew does do well with redirection and will need a parent or parents who have the ability to spend additional time explaining school work, life skills and other task and duties to Matthew in a way he can understand. Matthew does well with structure and clearly defined boundaries. Matthew needs guidance with boundaries and limits. He is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Matthew has a slower rate of learning than others his age and at times has poor concentration. In some instances, he is uncooperative and needs redirection. Matthew receives supportive services in school and enjoys field trips whenever there are scheduled. Matthew has difficulty focusing on given tasks both at school and in his present home setting. He requires supervision and encouragement to stay on task. Matthew is cooperative at times with simple tasks like taking clothes out the drier and cleaning the dining room table after meals. He can follow simple directions, and enjoy social interactions at times. Matthew can self motivate himself when he feels loved. Visit me at the TARE Gallery.
Matthew's Desired Family Profile
Matthew will benefit from a family who can provide lots of structure and consistency. Preferably, Matthew will be the only child in the home. Matthew's parents will be able to provide unconditional love and much affection. He will do best with a family who is patient, supportive and ready for lots of hugs. He needs a family devoted to him and one who can commit to provide Matthew support services that he may need. The parent or parents will need to have a support system in place prior to Matthew going into the home.
