LAFAYETTE, La. - A Weslaco man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after his conviction on drug charges.
A judge on Monday sentenced Antonio Luna Valdez, 45, to life in a federal prison. He was convicted earlier this year for smuggling large amounts of cocaine and marijuana into the U.S. from Mexico.
Officials seized and 18-wheeler and more than $1 million in cash during the investigation.
