WESLACO - A Weslaco family has a warning tonight for teens and others who interact with people online: You never really know who you might be meeting.

The Galvan family says they're lucky. Their teenage daughter, Claudia Galvan, is home safe after she was lured to California last year by a man she met on the website MocoSpace.

Claudia Galvan told CHANNEL 5 NEWS she knows it could have been a different situation for her. She warns other teens to be careful about meeting people online.

"I got very, very lucky. And for other kids out there and for everybody else out there who meets somebody online, think about it twice," the teen said.

Her parents flew out to California to bring her home after the FBI located her near San Francisco. Javier Galvan said the FBI has warned the man not to have any contact with the teen. He advises other parents to know who their children are chatting with online.

"Make sure what they're doing because sometimes they make the wrong decisions. And there's people on the other side that take advantage of that. That guy she was speaking to was 35 years old. She's 17. Try to know what they're doing on the Internet," said Javier Galvan.

The teen's mother, Veronica, was almost speechless with emotion. She wants to thank everyone for all their help and prayers.
